Another good result for Tuna Ozates

Tuna Ozates played at Open Championship of Central Serbia. Tournament was held in Paracin, 07 – 14. July.

Tuna played very well. He started with undeserved defeat in round 1. Unfortunately, later he missed chances to promote to top half  losing in round 4, although he had better position. Later he completely stabilised form and made 5 consecutive draws in very fine style. All his opponents were overrated, and that makes his result excellent. He did not deserve to lose even one single game. Tuna gained new 60 elo points!

Excellent performance of Spencer Lee at World Open, Philadelphia

The World Open was held in Philadelphia, since June 30th to July 4th. Spencer Lee scored 4,5 /9. Finnishing tournament with 50% of points vs. all opponents with much higher elo, he earned new 60 elo points! Expenting for Spencer’s new good results…

Tuna Ozates shared 1st place at Turkish Youth Championship

16-year old Tuna Ozates shared 1st place at Turkish Youth Championship ( U 20 ). He was leader from beginning. Unfortunately, “Bucholz” is not first tie-break criteria. He must play two tie-break games with second placed Ege Koksal, and he lost that mini match. But, 7,5 /9 is amazing result! Tuna gained 87 elo points (!) and now he is so close to FM title!
